SpaceX's Falcon 9 launches Crew-9 to the International Space Station from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Space Launch Complex 40.
The Dragon “Freedom” spacecraft carried astronauts astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov of Russia. Crew-9 was originally scheduled to launch a crew of four to the International Space Station (ISS), but due to the decision to return the Starliner astronauts aboard the Crew 9 Dragon, the crew capsule only carried 2 astronauts and will come back to Earth after 6 months with the 2 Starliner astronauts.
Eight and a half minutes after liftoff, the rocket's reusable first stage booster B1085 landed at Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
This mission marks the first time a crewed flight was launched from Space Launch Complex 40.
